"My Brain on My Mind" by Priscilla Long is the lead essay in the current issue (Winter 2010) of American Scholar. The essay explores what we know about the human brain and its relationship to memory and writing. Long has made her discussion of brain science and the mind accessible through the structure of the essay itself (there is a section for each letter of the alphabet) and through her exquisite prose. Long is truly a writer's writer, and we are delighted she is a returning Taos Summer Writers' Conference faculty member!
Long's workshop is called "The Art of the Sentence, the Art of the Paragraph" and is open to all levels. To read this lovely prose piece crafted by a master, visit http://www.theamericanscholar.org/my-brain-on-my-mind/.
