Getting Published: Hands-on Advice - workshop in DC area September 29, 12-5

Message from Nancy Naomi Carlson - former Taos Summer Writers' Conference participant

Just a heads-up about my one-day intensive at the Writer's Center: "Getting Published: Hands-on Advice." It's September 29, 12:00 - 5:00. Hope you'll consider it, if you're "in town"...well, in the DC area.
Here's the blurb:

Have you wanted to get your writing published, but didn't know where to start? Are you already publishing but want to publish in more competitive markets? Do you wonder if your work is ready for publication? Now is the perfect time to look at these questions, as the fall is "prime time" for submitting your writing to literary journals and magazines. In this workshop we will learn about the business of poetry (and poetry translations!!) and short story submission. We will also research and target appropriate markets for your writing. Please bring at least 10 copies of two poems or a few pages of a story to discuss, time permitting.

You can register on the Writer's Center website: www.writer.org
